Event Tickets - For Users

When a user subscribes to an event or purchases a ticket, their ticket appears in their user profile under Settings > Events.

An automatic event confirmation email is also triggered which can be fully customised. As a standard template, it includes event details and a link to download the event to their calendar.

The user also will have a banner shown on their dashboard with an indicator that they have an event coming up and on the day of the event a link to the event is displayed prominently on the dashboard so it is the first thing the user will see. Users can download .ics files to add events to their calendar, print and also allocate guest tickets.

When a user purchases more than 1 ticket, e.g. 10 tickets they can allocate each of these tickets to different guests, the minimal information for a guest is firstname.

If a user purchases multiple tickets such as 1 x member ticket and 5 x guest tickets and 2 x gold member tickets they will see ALL of these tickets in their ticket for this event, making it easy to manage ALL of their tickets in one place. This type of ticketing is especially useful for conferences and larger scale events where tickets may be sold per table.  Each guest is given a unique QR code that can be used for checking in at events.

Linking Guest Allocated tickets to Existing Users

The ticket purchaser can allocate tickets to other users, the guests will not be automatically registered to the system, however if a matching email address is found the ticket is linked to a user and they will be able to see that ticket in their My Settings > Events section as well as complete any mandatory fields (e.g. dietary requirements) and whether they will be attending. The email address has to match exactly, the way to tell it has been linked is when linked the guest firstname and lastname is not editable.

To unallocate that ticket, check "deleted" and save and you can allocate it to another user.

Transferable Tickets If you would like users with a single ticket to be able to transfer this ticket to another user, you must check is Transferable in the Event Category to enable it.

Seamless Event Ticket Access via Paid Tag URL

Mition now supports a convenient way for users to access their event tickets directly without the need to log in.

  • Each paid ticket purchaser receives a unique URL in their confirmation email in the form:
    /public/tickets/[paid]
  • This URL uses the customer's unique number (the [PaID] tag) to securely display their event tickets.
  • Users can simply click the link and view their tickets immediately without logging in.
  • To enable this feature, ensure the [PaID] payment gateway setting is activated in Admin Settings > Payment Gateways.
  • Once setup, you can use this tag in emails. You can find a users PaID on their profile and send it to them via SMS or Email to see their tickets with one click. Ticket holders can also see all guests tickets too.

This feature provides a seamless experience for attendees while maintaining security and privacy.

Automatic Guest Account Creation and Ticket Linking

To improve guest management for events, Mition now includes an automatic guest user creation feature:

  • When enabled, guests purchasing or allocated tickets who do not already have a Mition user account will be automatically created as users in the system.
  • If a guest's email address matches an existing user exactly, the ticket will be linked automatically to that user (without creating a new user account)
  • Welcome emails will be sent automatically to these new users if this setting is enabled, providing them access and guidance.
  • This feature must be enabled under Admin Settings > Events > Create user from guest - simply check this feature to turn it on.

This streamlines guest management, ensuring all ticket holders become recognised users for better communication and engagement.

Download PDF Ticket Option with QR Codes

A new Download PDF option is now available for all event tickets now:

  • Each ticket can be downloaded individually as a PDF file.
  • The PDF contains ticket details, the ticket number, and a QR Code (if enabled in the event settings).
  • This allows primary event ticket holders to download each ticket to hand out manually.
  • The PDF ticket is formatted to print on an A4 sheet, designed specifically to fit inside a 4.5" x 6.8" clear lanyard holder.
  • Users only need to fold the four corners of the printed A4 sheet to make it fit perfectly into the lanyard holder.
  • This format is ideal for fast laser printers preparing name tags or tickets in advance.
  • Purchasing matching lanyards and clear holders provides a professional and secure way to display event access credentials.

This enhancement allows event organisers and attendees to easily print and present tickets in a convenient, standardised format.

Top Tip

Auto reminders are a great way to remind people they have an event coming up!

Use the email template feature to create specific content at defined intervals. Then select the clock icon to set these as auto reminders to send an email to all users who are subscribed to events.

Setup multiple reminders such as a week prior to the event and the day prior for all events for your organisation.
